Concerto for the ages

I have for a long reluctant while acknowledged that I am no longer a ‘young violinist’, but when you establish that you last worked on a concerto with someone twenty-eight years ago, that point is firmly brought home!

I last had the pleasure of playing with Peter Stark in 1991 when we toured Scotland with Bruch’s G minor concerto and our pairing was renewed in August 2019 as we worked on the Barber concerto. We performed at Sherborne Abbey with the Sherborne Summer School Chamber Orchestra as part of the annual summer school. It was highly memorable to work with Peter and his expertly warm and accommodating style and the orchestra were fabulous.

A further twenty-eight years might be pushing it…
